So I have to remind myself that not every dog comes equipped with a nice plush double-coat like a corgi. Some of the little darlings have almost NO FUR! These are the dogs who would prefer to spend most of their day snuggled up in the house, with only a trip or two outside in that nasty white stuff, when they really really have to go. The three Most Sissy this week are Lola, a tiny brindle chihuahua, Emma her Beagle housemate, and dear granny Life, a 15 yr old pointer-dalmation cross. These three spend their days ensconced in layers of soft blankets, and compete for who gets the best spot. Sometimes I have to physically pick them up and place them outside, as when I call them to the door for a yellow snow session, they avoid eye contact and pretend they don’t know me. Although some of them did come with their own little snow jackets, they don’t enjoy getting “dressed” in them any more than little kids do. But when it’s like this outside, guess I can’t really blame them for preferring the hearth.
